In 2020, CaroMont Health, a hospital system based in Gastonia, NC was awarded a certificate of need for a new hospital in Belmont, NC. Shortly thereafter, Flagship was selected to provide a range of services including the upfit construction, leasing and management of a 100,000 SF multi-specialty medical office building and ASC to be constructed adjacent to their new hospital.

During early planning and design stages Flagship provided development budgeting and consulting services. As the campus plan came together, Flagship took on a role of construction project manager for all of the upfits within the new on-campus MOB. Flagship managed design and programing efforts that ultimately right-sized space for CaroMont’s provider groups including Women’s Services, Cardiology, Surgical associates, Imaging and an ASC operated through a joint partnership between the hospital and other third party providers. These services ultimately consumed about 75% of the building and Flagship’s leasing team was hired as landlord’s agent to represent the hospital in leasing the remaining space to complementary third party practices wanting space on the Hospital’s new campus.

Construction of the building commenced fourth quarter of 2021 and is projected to open for patient care second quarter of 2023. Flagship’s Property Management team has also been engaged to manage the building as soon as operations begin.
