Charlotte, NC – Flagship Healthcare Real Estate Fund has acquired Swain Medical Park, an 11,160-square-foot medical office building located at 45 Plateau Street in Bryson City, North Carolina.
This is the sixth project for Flagship Healthcare Real Estate Fund, a private equity real estate fund affiliated with Charlotte, NC based Brackett Flagship Properties, LLC.
Built in 2009, Swain Medical Park is adjacent to the 25-bed Swain County Hospital, currently known as MedWest-Swain, Swain County’s Critical Access Hospital that has been in operation since 1948. The building is 100 percent leased by Swain County Hospital, with tenants that include MedWest-Swain Rehabilitation Services, MedWest- Swain Interventional Pain Services, and Missions Children’s Bryson City. Swain Medical Park benefits from the strong regional medical demand as well as Swain County Hospital’s recently-announced sale to Duke LifePoint Healthcare, a joint venture of Duke University Health System, one of the country’s leading academic health systems, and LifePoint Hospitals, a leading hospital system with nearly 60 hospital campuses across the U.S.
“We’re excited to be investing in western North Carolina, in a property crucial to Swain’s healthcare delivery, and with a forward-thinking partner like Swain County Hospital,” said Russell Brown, Brackett Flagship Properties’ Vice President of Investments. “We are confident in this community hospital’s long-term growth, especially given its recent acquisition announcement.”
